Gold Medal Success Continues for Barokes and Vinsafe!

More good news for Barokes as this innovative Australian wine producer continued its medal success with another swag of medals, including an impressive Gold Medal awarded to Barokes’ Cabernet Shiraz Merlot at the2011 Critics Challenge International Wine Challenge (USA). This makes consecutive Gold Medals awarded to Barokes at this competition, with Gold also awarded to this Barokes wine in 2010.

With over 125 medals awarded to date, including 7 Gold (including 2 ‘Best in Class’) and a Platinum (including nomination for ‘Best at Show’), Barokes and its globally patented Vinsafe wine packaging system are reallymaking an impression on the global stage.

Vinsafe is the globally patented wine packaging system which allows wine to be canned with quality, integrity, stability and longevity. All Barokes wines are produced utilising the Vinsafe wine packaging system in slim line aluminium cans. Additionally, Vinsafe is licensed to other wine producers so that they can produce their own wine in a can products.

Barokes Chief Executive Officer, Greg Stokes, said “it is very rewarding to receive these accolades from such well respected international wine competitions. This success clearly confirms the premium quality of our wines and once again positions our Vinsafe technology as the leading wine in a can packaging system globally."

The success of Barokes wines was well received at Vinexpo last month with many French, Spanish, Italian,German and Portuguese wineries now interested in utilising Vinsafe to produce their own wine in a can for both local and export markets. The Barokes range proves the viability of Vinsafe which is important for these winemakers concerned that their product’s integrity is maintained through proven technology backed by International Patents. These traditional ‘old world’ winemakers with their established brands and wines have recognized the benefits of this cutting edge technology. They view Vinsafe as a trusted technology which they are confident in using to reach new global markets and consumer demographics.

Additionally, the European supply chain for Vinsafe is expanding with Master of Wine, Philip Goodband joining the Vinsafe team, Ball Packaging Europe now licensed to produce cans for wine and Font Salem (Spanish filler) licensed to fill wine in a can. Two more European fillers are expected to be accredited soon to fill to Vinsafe specifications, one in Germany and the other in France. “This means that European wineries will have choice as to where their wines are filled, thereby keeping transport costs and overall cost of goods to a minimum andallowing greater penetration into new markets and a new generation of consumers”, stated Stokes.
