Wine Industry Pioneer Dr. Max Lake dies
One of the pioneers of the Australian Wine Industry Dr. Max Lake (1924-2009) passed away on Tuesday 14th April aged 84. He established the Lake's Folly Winery, based in the Hunter Valley, in 1963 and has since authored numerous books on food and wine.
Max was a surgeon by trade and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal. He will be sadly missed by all and his legacy will live on.
